Though the pandemic seems to be behind us, the effects of it remain.

Throughout the pandemic, we have been working closely with our publishing partners and vendors. There has been significant worldwide impacts which constrained partners and vendors into implementing a variety of price increases ranging from 30-50%, implementing production schedule increases from 20-300%, and implementing transportation schedule increases by 25-100%.

As much as the global publishing industry has been working hard to return to the previous normal, the ongoing impacts throughout the industry include:

Disruptions in supplies of paper, ink, binding materials, and cover materials
Disruptions in production staffing levels
Disruptions in production schedules
Disruptions in shipping schedules
Disruptions due to industry consolidation which reduce a variety of alternatives
Cost increases due to the constraints of supply and demand
Cost increases for labor and material
Cost increases for postage and freight

So what does this mean for the Refreshed ASV? Please know we have unceasingly striven to maintain the lowest cost structure possible, without sacrificing the quality and service you have come to enjoy, and without limiting our future edition road map intended to meet the physical needs of readers with visual impairments (more on this topic is coming in the future).
